Our clients approached us as they were about to embark on an exciting new adventure in life. their retirement!

The site is located in the Witchcliffe Ecovillage, one of the world’s most sustainable residential developments, which aims to be 100% self-sufficient in renewable energy, water, and organic fresh produce with highly sustainable, passive solar dwellings.

The Lifetime Environmental Impact of the house was assessed using LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) software to determine an impressive 140% Carbon offset! This landmark passive solar home has a 10kw photovoltaic system, rainwater harvesting, grey water recycling, rammed earth thermal walls, and an 8 Star Energy Efficiency rating!

The architectural character reflects the rustic aesthetic of a typical southwest country village with attention given to simplicity of form, expression of natural materials, harmonious proportions, and careful rendering of details and finishes. The traditional built form & materials of the region are reflected in high gable roofs, verandahs, frame construction & lightweight timber cladding.
